1. Responsible Party
The party responsible for data processing is:
Newsy - The News Manager
E-Mail: info@newsy.me
2. Purpose of Data Processing
Personal data (e.g. email address, topic interests, technical log data) is used exclusively to:
- enable the news delivery,
- technically operate and improve the service,
- respond to user inquiries.
No commercial use or sharing of data with third parties takes place, except with contracted service providers (e.g. email delivery, hosting).
3. Data Collection and Retention
Only data necessary for operation is collected:
- Email address
- Selected topic interests
- Technical data (e.g. registration timestamp, IP address at login)
Data is retained for as long as the user has an account. After account deletion, data is removed within a reasonable timeframe.
4. Data Sharing with Third Parties
External processors may be engaged to provide the service (e.g. hosting providers, email service providers).
Specifically, the following are used: Supabase for the database and authentication (Zurich region, Switzerland), Render for the application servers (Frankfurt region, Germany) and Resend for sending email.
AI services are also used to produce the briefings: Google Gemini extracts search terms from the topics you enter, Anthropic Claude checks the articles found for relevance and writes the summaries, and a model from OpenAI is used for the topic comparison in the history view. Only the topics, any search prompt and the contents of the articles found are transmitted — not your email address or account identity.
These process data exclusively on behalf of and in accordance with data protection requirements (Art. 9 revFADP).
Transfer to third countries only occurs where an adequate level of data protection is ensured (e.g. through standard contractual clauses).
5. Data Security
Appropriate technical and organizational measures are taken to protect stored personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
6. Rights of Data Subjects
Users have the right to request information about their stored data, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.
Requests may be directed to the contact address provided in Section 1.
7. Email Delivery & Consent
News is only sent following explicit consent through a double opt-in process.
Every email contains an unsubscribe link, which can be used to stop delivery at any time.
8. Changes to the Privacy Policy
The operator reserves the right to update this privacy policy as needed. The current version published on the platform shall always be authoritative.
