Terms of Use & Liability Disclaimer

    As of: August 2026

    1. Purpose of the Platform

The Newsy platform is a purely free, private information and hobby service. It is designed to provide registered users with AI-generated summaries of publicly accessible news on a daily or weekly basis. Use of the service is at the user's own risk; no legal claim to the provision or continuous availability of the service exists.

    2. Registration and Use

Registration with a valid email address is required to use the platform. The stated interests are used to compile relevant content and deliver it by email.

Users undertake to provide only accurate information and not to misuse the platform.

    3. Limitation and Exclusion of Liability

The provision of the platform and all content is made purely free of charge and as a courtesy service without any contractual warranty. The operator makes no guarantee regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, error-free nature, or constant availability of the provided information.

Content and summaries are aggregated automatically from external sources using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The operator shall not be liable for incorrect, incomplete, or misleading AI summaries or for actions/decisions made by users based on this information. Users are required to verify relevant information directly with the respective original sources.

To the maximum extent permitted by law (in accordance with Art. 100 para. 1 Swiss Code of Obligations), any liability of the operator – on whatever legal grounds – for direct, indirect, or consequential damages, lost profits, data loss, computer outages, or service interruptions is fully excluded. This limitation of liability does not apply to damages caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence of the operator, or for personal injury.

The content of emails and the platform may contain information and links from third parties. The operator accepts no responsibility for external content or linked websites.

    4. Availability and Changes

The operator strives to provide the platform with as little interruption as possible, but does not guarantee continuous availability.

The operator reserves the right to modify, limit, or entirely discontinue the platform, its features, or these terms of use at any time without prior notice.

    5. Intellectual Property

All proprietary content on the platform is, unless otherwise noted, owned by the operator or licensed accordingly. Reuse, reproduction, or distribution requires the explicit written consent of the operator.

    6. Termination of Use

Users can delete their account at any time. The operator may suspend or terminate access to the platform at any time without stating reasons, in particular in cases of misuse.

    7. Applicable Law, Jurisdiction & Severability

Swiss law applies exclusively, excluding conflict of law rules.

The place of jurisdiction is — to the extent permitted by law — the place of residence of the operator. Should individual provisions of these Terms of Use be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
